Rube Goldberg Machine Contest 2010 Registration

Registrations will not be accepted after 5:00pm, Friday, January 29, 2010

Permission is given for team members and advisors to be photographed at the 2010 Rube Goldberg competition held at Minnesota State University, Mankato and Anoka Technical College, Anoka. Authorization is given to these institutions to use and reproduce photographs in advertisements, promotional materials and websites at no fee to the institution. Contest participation implies consent to photograph individuals and teams and to use contest photographs in all forms of publicity.
The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest (RGMC) is now a national competition for high school students. Students from throughout the country compete at the national competition held each year at Purdue University in Indiana. The competition is sponsored by the Purdue University campus chapter of Theta Tau, a professional engineering fraternity. The RGMC is Purdue's largest non-sports media event. We are strongly considering national affiliation for our current Rube Goldberg competition. Preliminary contests would be held as usual at Minnesota State University, Mankato and Anoka Technial College. The top winner from each location is eligible to compete in the national contest. National rules permit no more than three (3) teams per school with up to 12 members participating on a team. This would change from our current rules which permits more than three (3) teams per school. An additional change would be a registration fee. The national contest charges $300 per team, but we will waive $200 of that fee, allowing schools a refund of $200. We are interested in your input. Our school would be interested in competing in the national Rube Goldberg Machine Contest and we would be willing to pay the required fee.
