REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FY12
The Minnesota Center for Engineering & Manufacturing is seeking proposals which demonstrate innovation, not replication, in two primary areas: (1) increasing the pipeline which includes K12 outreach and (2) connecting to industry. Projects must involve more than one campus. This is a competitive grant process with a cap of $50K per grant request.

CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION (with evaluation points)
Evaluation Points – 30
1) Project Summary
2) A report of FY11 RFP accomplishments and expenditures is required at the time of FY12 submission before consideration will be given for FY12 funds.
Evaluation Points – 60
3) Collaboration with one or more MNCEME partner institutions or other MnSCU institutions and/or industry. Identify the following:
- Full description of the role of each partner institution including financial exchange
- Identify actively participating industry partner(s) and describe their role, the benefits that each member of the partnership gains and any contributions provided to the proposed project.
4) Project deliverables and how those goals will be measured. What are the standards to be used?5) Project timeline with milestone accomplishments
6) Plan for dissemination of project findings and accomplishments

7) Budget detail with explanation
Final Report is due June 30, 2012
FORMAT
All proposals must be submitted using MNCEME forms.
1) Style
- Not to exceed 6 pages in length (-1 point for RFPs over page allowance)
- Spacing 1.5 (-1 point for RFPs with incorrect spacing)
- Arial font, 10 pt (-1 point for RFPs with incorrect font or size)
- RFP must be received in PDF format (-1 point for RFPs delivered in wrong format)
TIME LINE
- Proposals Due: Friday, October 14, 2011
- Proposal Review: October 17-20, 2011
- Awards Announced: Friday, October 21, 2011
- Project Completion: June 30, 2012
- Final Report Due: July 1, 2012
